Cheese Chocolate Chowder

It has been 1 year 7 days and 83 entries since I first posted to this blog. The past year has been full (see Ode to 2013 for a summary of highlights). I want to shout a giant THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to all of you that have read, commented, shared words of encouragement.

With that said . . .  I'm still experimenting with the approach for this blog going forward. I'm not ready to close the door, pretty sure this travel bug is chronic and I still LOVE food. So, if you have any requests or suggestions: more pics (about 8,000 still reside on my phone), more stories, more food, more practical stuff --or if you've had enough--I would love to hear from you.

Now for some New Year's Resolutions courtesy of Seattle, WA and sponsored by the letter "C" Done & Done!

Coconut Cream Pie at Dahlia Bakery. Triple Coconut Cream Pie to be exact.
Venezuelan sipping CHOCOLATE from the Chocolate Box. I am way glad they were out of the European sipping chocolate because this was a trip for the taste buds.

CHOWDER at Pike Place Chowder
Seafood Bisque, Clam Chowder, Seared Sea Scallop Chowder, Smoked Salmon Chowder
Thank your lucky stars they have a sampler platter. The line that wraps around the corner is worth the wait and moves quickly.

CUPCAKES: Lavendar and the seasonal Velvet Elvis (2 separate flavors) at Cupcake Royale. Velvet Elvis is a hunka hunka burnin' love cupcake with banana, peanut butter, chocolate and bacon. I know I know just another on the chocolate bacon craze, but it really was intensely good.
CHIHULY Garden and Glass. Stunning at night I'm sure it's beautiful during the day too. Good news: your ticket gets you in twice for one day so you can check it out day and night.

Cute sage green hat courtesy of my friend Amy. I forgot that 45 degree temps in Denver are mild compared with the bone chilling 45 degree temps in Seattle.

Oh! and the best Rootbeer I have ever had in my entire life, brewed in-house at Serious Pie. The Rootbeer and the pizza were so delightful we went back twice. Important to note: I was only in Seattle 57 hours. Happy New Year!

    1. Wish you had been there too. It was very last minute. We booked the flight Sunday night and left Tuesday morning. My life is pretty boring between trips--I promise! Miss you too!

  2. Keep it up, please! Even if you wrote, "Today I painted my nails," it would be a worthwhile read. You have a lovely and adventurous outlook on living and we need to hear it.

    1. Painting my nails doesn't happen very often--so that is a monumental event. Thanks for the encouragement. I love YOUR blog!

    1. Hi friend of Rachel and Katie and mine :). Thanks for the vote more pictures coming soon. And we are on the same wave length . . . I've been experimenting with coconut bun recipes. Because getting them only in Hawaii is not an option. Happy New Year!
